What NewLeaf is not

Getting started5 min read

Credit and debt marketing is loud. Before you sort signal from noise, it helps to name what NewLeaf is not — and what federal law already gives you whether you use a service or not.

Not credit counseling

NewLeaf is supervised credit restoration and debt support software — not a nonprofit counseling agency, not a DMP enrollment desk, and not a substitute for legal advice. We don’t use counseling language because that’s not what we are. If you need attorney-level guidance on a specific contract or lawsuit, a licensed lawyer is the right channel.

Rights you already have

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can dispute inaccurate or incomplete information on your credit report directly with each bureau at no cost. You can request your reports. You can ask for investigation results in writing. Those rights don’t expire because you hire help — and they don’t require a “secret letter” or a mass-dispute blast.

  • Pull and read your credit report.
  • Dispute specific items with documentation.
  • Track bureau clocks and responses.
  • Escalate when the file supports it — case by case.

Not a score or deletion factory

No one can promise a point jump by next month. No one can guarantee an item comes off your file. Outcomes depend on what’s reported, what’s verifiable, and what the bureaus and furnishers return. NewLeaf shows process and file truth — what was filed, what came back, what’s worth a second look — not a miracle timeline.

The honest pitch is structure: read the file, use your rights, keep a paper trail, and get human help when the case needs it.

Still deciding? Start with reading your credit file or how it works. Educational only — not legal advice.
